The Loons are a group of aquatic birds found in many parts of North America and northern Eurasia.
Male and female loons have identical plumage, however, males are larger on average, but relative size is only apparent when both the male and and female are together. Loons find their prey by sight and they eat mainly fish, supplemented with amphibians and crustaceans.
